The Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles receives funding from a wide range of public and private sources such as government agencies, law firms, corporations, foundations, and individual donors.
Our largest funding source is Legal Services Corporation (LSC), a nonprofit corporation established by Congress. Established in 1974, LSC operates as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that promotes equal access to justice and provides grants for high-quality civil legal assistance to low-income Americans.
Additional funding is provided by grants from the State Bar of California Legal Services Trust Fund Program (IOLTA), U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Office of Refugee Resettlement, U.S. Department of Justice, United Nations, County of Los Angeles, City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, City of Santa Monica, City of Long Beach, United Way of Greater Los Angeles, California Community Foundation, The Ahmanson Foundation and Weingart Foundation.
We also value the contributions of numerous law firms, private attorneys, corporations, and the general public. Thank you all for your generous and continued support. Read how your contributions are helping our clients.
