Driver's License Clinic

All too often, a the barrier to job is the lack of a valid driver’s license. The Driver’s License Clinics provide free legal advice, forms, and other written materials to persons whose licenses have been denied, suspended, or revoked for whatever reason, including back child support, DUI, failure to appear on a traffic violation, unpaid judgment on a car accident, or no insurance.

Clinics are held at different locations and times. Search the LAFLA Calendar for clinic dates and locations.

Eligible participants must pre-register at least two days before the clinic they wish to attend. To pre-register and verify your eligibility, please call (213) 640-3954 or (213) 640-3976.

Registered participants should come 15 to 30 minutes early as they must sign in 10 minutes before the clinic begins. Participants will be individually advised in sign-in order.

Participants must bring to the clinic all paperwork about their license denial, suspension or revocation. At a minimum, this means bringing a recent DMV abstract or printout (dated within 14 days of the clinic date) and the most recent collection agency, court or DMV notice received. If the reason for license denial or suspension is back child support, participants should also bring a copy of the original child support judgment/order and/or the latest payment notice from the court trustee with the court case number.
