Support from public-spirited law firms throughout our service area makes it possible for the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles to provide access to justice for thousands of poor and low-income people who otherwise could not afford an attorney to help them seek their legal rights.

Brad D. Brian, a partner at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, has accepted the challenge to chair this year’s Law Firm Campaign. Brian is past president and former member of our Board of Directors, and for the past 10 years the "Daily Journal" has named him one of the 100 most influential attorneys in the State of California.

Participation in the Campaign enables members of the legal community to fulfill one of the legal profession’s most basic tenets, embodied in the words above the entrance to the Supreme Court of the United States: "Equal Justice for All."

In 2009, the Campaign raised $413,050 from our "Partners in Equal Justice." LAFLA is grateful to 2009 Campaign Co-Chairs Seth Aronson, O’Melveny & Myers LLP; James Lichtman, NBC Universal Television Group, and Marc Seltzer, Susman Godfrey L.L.P. who, with the assistance of the Law Firm Campaign Committee and chair Ronald Turovsky, rallied large firms of 250-plus attorneys, mid-size practices and sole practitioners for support. Their generosity helped sustain our ability to provide legal assistance to nearly 14,000 individuals and families and important legal information and education to approximately 42,000 others.
