Associates Advisory Board Gears Up for 2010 Summer Event at J Lounge, Downtown LA

Each year, LAFLA’s Associates Advisory Board (AAB) organizes a summer event (see 2009 event photo slideshow below) to introduce law associates to the Foundation’s program and services. This year’s event will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, 6-8 p.m. at the J Lounge in downtown Los Angeles. AAB is comprised of young leaders from the legal community who strive to increase pro bono involvement and help raise funds for LAFLA.

Law Associates Celebrate 2009 Summer Event and Get to Know LAFLA

Law associates and summer law students showed their support for LAFLA by attending the Associates Advisory Board summer event called AAB Fab held at the Elevate Lounge in downtown Los Angeles. Frank Rorie of Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe and Chair of AAB and the brainchild of the event was excited to see more than 200 colleagues come out to support LAFLA. According to Rorie the event serves to increase awareness of LAFLA and helps to build relationships between the organization and young lawyers. A special thank you to the AAB Board and Social Outreach co-chairs Javier Rivera of Fox Rothschild LLP and Kimberly Foster of Barlow, Kobata & Denis who organized the event. Funds raised will help support LAFLA’s Bill Smith Homeless Veterans Project. LAFLA thanks all of the associates and students who attended the event and are committed to the mission of the organization.

Associates Advisory Board Background

Created in 2005, LAFLA’s Associates Advisory Board (AAB) is an outgrowth of several years of successful Associates Campaigns to benefit LAFLA. AAB members represent over 20 of the major law firms in Los Angeles. They are the young leaders of the local legal community and support LAFLA by increasing awareness of the organization, its mission and services; strive to increase pro bono involvement; and help raise funds among their colleagues. LAFLA welcomes their energy and enthusiasm to help us expand our services to low-income communities.
