Betty Hung is Directing Attorney of the Employment Law Unit which advocates on behalf of low-wage workers and the working poor. Through community education, legal representation, policy advocacy, and partnerships with other community organizations, the Employment Law Unit seeks to affirm the rights of workers, and bring dignity and respect for them to the workplace. The Unit operates several community-based walk-in clinics that assist workers with wage and hour claims, unemployment benefits appeals, and a variety of other employment-related issues.

Prior to joining LAFLA, Ms. Hung served as a staff attorney at the Asian Pacific American Legal Center, where she represented garment workers in individual cases and impact litigation. She also worked as a community organizer among Long Beach's Cambodian population and as a litigation associate at the law firm of O'Melveny & Myers LLP. Additionally, Betty serves on the boards of the Jessie Smith Noyes Foundation and the Sexual Assault Crisis Agency. She is a graduate of Harvard and Yale Law School. And Betty sits on the boards of the California Committee on Occupational Safety and Health, and the Fund for a New Los Angeles of the Liberty Hill Foundation.
